How do normal and FR fabrics react to ignition?

Normal fabrics and garments will burn away from the point of ignition with an increasing rate of flame spread and continue to burn after removal of the ignition source. Normal fabrics will continue to burn until they are extinguished or all flammable material is consumed.

Flame-resistant (FR) fabrics and garments are intended to resist ignition, prevent the spread of flames away from the immediate area of high heat impingement, and to self-extinguish almost immediately upon removal of the ignition source.

Drotex FR fabrics are treated by environmental chemicals and will keep flame retardant performance for the life of the garment. We will keep going to offer better protection for global workers!

An amazing trip to RiZhao

Last week, our company has organised a trip to Rizhao. We went there by bus,it was a long journey and it takes about 10 hours to get there from Xinxiang. We set out at 1 o'clock on the afternoon and arrived there at nearly 1 o'clock in the morinig. We are all very tired but we're very happy to see the blue oceans and beaches.
After rest,we all went to the seaside to take a sunshine bath on the beach and play. There was always sunshine and fresh air, which made us so comfortable. We went to the seaside, the sea was as blue as the sky,and bathing in the sunshine on the beach, was really an enjoyable thing.I also picked up a lot of colorful shells with my little sister, but I forgot to wash them so when I got up the next day,it had a bad smell,so I threw them away.
There we bought many interesting souvenirs,I was planing to send them to my friends.
We ate many tings there, such as fish, prawn, and so on.They are very delicious. Then we lived in a clean and tidy seaside hotel, and the price was not so expensive.I like Rizhao very much, and if I got a chance,I hope to come here again,it is such a beautiful and interesting place.
Coming back from this unforgettable trip,we will continue to get back to our work, providing better protection for global workers and offer best quality flame retardant fabrics for people all over the world!

What's The Meaning Of "100% Azo Free" In Textile Industry?

The greatest used class of compounds used in dyestuffs are azo compounds. There are azo dyes that have been found to be potential carcinogens. These were first regulated in the EU by Germany and the list is commonly called the German banned dye list. If a product has not been made using these compounds, it is sometimes called azo free. It is misleading, since the number of dyes on that list is very small as compared to the total number of azo dyes which are still used.

In short, some azo-based dyes (Azo dye group III A1 and A2) shed carcinogenic aryl amines as the garments are worn (they contain metallic elements) creating health risks, according to the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment. Azo-dyed garments may also contain toxic chemicals such as chlorine bleach.

For example, your vibrant yellow sweater may contain an azo dye with 4-hydro-xyphenylazobenzene, or 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene (and you didn't have to pay extra!).

Given that baby's skin has a natural sensitivity and an undeveloped derma, the health risk of exposure to aromatic azo dyes is very high. The key benefit of azo-free dyes is the removal of the metallic component, which can create a textile-induced chemical sensitivity, or worse.

Fabrics manufactured by Xinxiang Zhuocheng Special Textile Co., Ltd have been verified to pass OEKO-TEX 100 STANDARD.It means that the fabric is totally envirionmental friendly and does not contain any harmful contents.

Drotex State-of-the-Art Technology

Delivering on a true guarantee of flame resistance for the life of a fabric is a tough challenge.Drotex has demonstrated this guarantee in laboratory testing and through the auditing of samples from the millions of garments in the protective clothing marketplace for nearly two decades.

There are many unseen details that go into the production of durable flame resistant cotton and cotton blend fabrics from the production of the base material all the way to the proven performance of the FR fabric in the market. We have spent decades perfecting the highly technical, proprietary process to produce our trusted brands:FRCOTTON,FIREPRO & ARCSAFE,which are market proven. This high level of performance is achieved by Drotex's engineering process which forms a long-chain flame retardant polymer impregnated into the core of each cotton fiber. These technologies and processes are what help us raise the bar on protection, comfort and value - meter after meter, year after year.

Drotex Modacrylic cotton antistatic fabric

Modacrylic/cotton antistatic fabric is mainly composed of 55% modacrylic 43% cotton and 2% antistatic fiber (sometimes with 60% modacrylic 38% cotton 2% antistatic fiber). This kind of fabric has both advantages of modacrylic and cotton and meanwhile have antistatic property.

Modacrylic is a synthetic copolymer,it is inherently flame resistant.Although it burns when directly exposed to flame,it doesn't melt or drip and is self-extinguishing when the flame is removed.Modacrylic is widely used in high performance protective clothing, such as firefighting turnout gear, because flame resistance is combined with other desirable textile properties such as durability and good hand feel. Modacrylics are soft, strong, resilient and dimensionally stable. They can be easily dyed, show good press and shape retention and are quick to dry. They have outstanding resistantce to chemicals and solvents, are not attacked by moths or mildew, and are nonallergenic.
Cotton is a natural fiber. It is air permeable, moisture absorped, fast drying, soft and good at luster.
So this kind of fabric combines good features of both modacrylic and cotton. The fabric is permanent flame retardant, soft and resilient, shaggy and feels like wool, and has good heat retention property. Now it's been widely used as FR workwear in all kinds of industries.

Xinxiang Zhuocheng Special Textile Co., Ltd has been specialized in modacrylic/cotton fabrics and other flame retardant fabrics since 1998. Our goal is to provide better protection for global workers.
Hope to build a cooperation relationship with you in the future!

Difference between textile,fabric,cloth and tissue

The words fabric and cloth are used in textile assembly trades (such as tailoring and dressmaking) as synonyms for textile. However, there are subtle differences in these terms in specialized usage.

Textile refers to any material made of interlacing fibres.

A fabric is a material made through weaving, knitting, spreading, crocheting, or bonding that may be used in production of further goods (garments, etc.).

Cloth may be used synonymously with fabric but is often a finished piece of fabric used for a specific purpose (e.g., table cloth).

Tissue is a soft paper which is used for cleaning, especially your nose, and is thrown away after use, or a small rectangular piece of this. But in Russian this word is usually used the same as fabric.

Purification and preliminary processes of cotton fabric

The grey cloth, woven cotton fabric in its loom-state, not only contains impurities, including warp size, but requires further treatment in order to develop its full textile potential. Furthermore, it may receive considerable added value by applying one or more finishing processes.

Before dyeing and after-finishing(like flame retardant,anti-acid,etc.),there are several steps of pretreatment as below:

  • Singeing

Singeing is designed to burn off the surface fibres from the fabric to produce smoothness. The fabric passes over brushes to raise the fibres, then passes over a plate heated by gas flames.
  • Desizing

Depending on the size that has been used, the cloth may be steeped in a dilute acid and then rinsed, or enzymes may be used to break down the size.
  • Scouring

Scouring, is a chemical washing process carried out on cotton fabric to remove natural wax and non-fibrous impurities (e.g. the remains of seed fragments) from the fibres and any added soiling or dirt. Scouring is usually carried in iron vessels called kiers. The fabric is boiled in an alkali, which forms a soap with free fatty acids (saponification). A kier is usually enclosed, so the solution of sodium hydroxide can be boiled under pressure, excluding oxygen which would degrade the cellulose in the fibre. If the appropriate reagents are used, scouring will also remove size from the fabric although desizing often precedes scouring and is considered to be a separate process known as fabric preparation. Preparation and scouring are prerequisites to most of the other finishing processes. At this stage even the most naturally white cotton fibres are yellowish, and bleaching, the next process, is required.
  • Bleaching
Bleaching improves whiteness by removing natural coloration and remaining trace impurities from the cotton; the degree of bleaching necessary is determined by the required whiteness and absorbency. Cotton being a vegetable fibre will be bleached using an oxidizing agent, such as dilute sodium hypochlorite or dilute hydrogen peroxide. If the fabric is to be dyed a deep shade, then lower levels of bleaching are acceptable, for example. However, for white bed sheetings and medical applications, the highest levels of whiteness and absorbency are essential.
  • Mercerising
A further possibility is mercerizing during which the fabric is treated with caustic soda solution to cause swelling of the fibres. This results in improved lustre, strength and dye affinity. Cotton is mercerized under tension, and all alkali must be washed out before the tension is released or shrinkage will take place. Mercerizing can take place directly on grey cloth, or after bleaching.

Molten Metal Splash ISO 9185

For each material or assembly of materials will be prepared 7 samples in the warp direction (except leather) with measures of 260 mm x 100 mm. There will be the same with the PVC film (imitation of skin).
Poured over the tissue sample, which is placed at an angle(depending on the metal has to test), different quantities of molten metal, and evaluates the damage on the fabric and PVC film placed behind the fabric to simulate human skin.
